The Audi’s Expansion in Jakarta

Jakarta, November 20, 2011 – PT Garuda Mataram Motor, the distributor of Audi vehicles, plans to build a new showroom in the near future in South Jakarta, with funds amounting to 30 billion rupiahs.

According to André Nasuri, CEO of PT Garuda Mataram Motor, the construction of the new showroom was made because of consumers taking into account the high-end cars which mostly live in Jakarta.

If the new showroom will be operated, PT Garuda Mataram Motor have three showrooms, two showrooms and complete the existing first located at Jalan MT Haryono SCBD, Pacific Place, Jakarta.

Added in 2011, the premium car market in Indonesia is only 6000-7000 units of total car sales in general are expected to reach 870,000 units. Audi car sales alone more than 280 units, ranging from January to September 2011.

SEA GAMES Negative and Positive Impact to Indonesia

Lately the news about the SEA Games in Indonesia became one of the major topics in some of the news, especially in southeast Asia region.

One of the unique facts of this event that, sea games are mostly held in the city of Palembang which incidentally is not one of the big cities in Indonesia, compare from Economic and development growth.

Because of this SEA Games, making the economy particularly Palembang Indonesia increased, per capita income rose about 12%, and also has created new jobs in Palembang city.

But unfortunately, after some sports and economic observers predicted, that there will be miraculous events would occurred, and it was really happening, starting from international athletes who came are not taken by pedicab. Whereas the initial plan that this pedicab rickshaw (called becak) provided will bring the athletes mobile from every point of interest, for example from the arena into a residence in the neighborhood.

And what a shame that the athletes who came from abroad must bring a rickshaw. Whereas in Indonesia this transport is the lowest class transportation mode and the cheapest as well, it is a shame.

China’s Investors are eyeing on Indonesia’s Energy and Infrastructure Project

About 300 Chinese investors show a very high enthusiasm to work on a number of projects environmentally friendly energy development and infrastructure, like bridges, highways, railways, ports, and airports in Indonesia. besides the form of direct foreign investment, China’s interested investors is also realize the various development cooperation projects in these sectors by utilizing the Public-Private Partnership scheme (PPP).

Indonesia-China Investment Forum is organized by the Embassy in Beijing in cooperation with the Allens, Arthur & Robinson (AAR), the legal consulting firm based in Australia. This forum is part of a series of Promotion Program Trade, Tourism and Investment (TTI) Embassy in Beijing held in various cities in China in an effort to improve the flow of Chinese investment and tourism to Indonesia and the expansion of market access for Indonesian products.

Indonesia-China Investment Forum which was officially opened by Vice Minister (Wamen) Public Works (PU) Dardak Herman, also attended by Chinese Ambassador to the Republic of Mongolia concurrently, Imron Cotan and about 300 prominent businessmen from China, such as Sinohydro, China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), Gezhouba, CITIC, China National Offshore Oil Company (CNOOC) and Indonesia’s businessman.

A number of officials from the Ministry of Public Works (PU), Energy and Mineral Resources, Industry, National Planning Board, BKPM, and Pertamina were present as speakers. Other speakers come from the Allens, Arthur & Robinson (AAR), which focuses on the juridical perspective in investing in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the ambassador urged China as a strategic partner of Indonesia increased the amount of its investment in the homeland, particularly in infrastructure, transportation, manufacturing and energy that adds value and transfer technology to Indonesia.(detik finance)

Tanjung Priok Expansion begins in June
